Club BasicsWhat is Model United Nations? The Model United Nations is a program set up to allow high school and college students to debate current topics discussed in the actual United Nations. Students attend conferences where they discuss pre-decided issues from the point of view of their given country at different schools in an attempt to earn awards for their research and presentation skills. It's a simulation of the United Nations in which students follow all of the rules and procedures required in the U.N. Model United Nations is a great opportunity for all students to learn about the world.By participating, students will also learn the foreign policy of not only the U.S. but also that of many other nations, and what is going on in the world. It's also a fantastic tool for learning debate and public speaking skills in an informal way. Meetings:Every Wednesdays, afterschool at 2:20, in Mr.Koeseck's Room (240). Mock Conferences will be in the Lecture Room if we can reserve it! Membership Requirements:2 Conferences - 1 per semester Upcoming EventsConferences
