How should one prepare for a mediation?

Disputing parties should first consider the events and situations that have occurred up to this point, and perhaps even consider how to articulate those in an opening statement. As well, disputants should consider what they want to came away with. And then what they absolutely need to come away with after the mediation. As well, it would be wise to anticipate the probable wants and needs of the other side(s).

In mediation, the parties do not work against each other or try to prove who is right or wrong. Rather, parties focus on the problems between them and with the help of the mediators, resolve them. Mediations are for people who really want to solve a problem.
