Building With Books: A club whose mission is to enhance & empower students to make a positive difference in
their communities while helping people in developing countries increase their self-reliance through education.
Chess Club: Promotes practice & competition in the playing of chess.
Chinese Club: Meets to enjoy the culture & background of the Chinese people.
Competitive Bowling Club: A club for the serious bowler who wants to
compete at the Varsity or iv levels against other schools at different bowling centers. The club meets each week during the winter sports season & compete at regional & state tournaments.
Club Med: This club offers students the opportunity to explore numerous medical occupations through
guest speakers & field trips.
Debate Team/Club: Participates in debating events; attends regional, state & national competitions.
Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA): Relates to classroom
instructional programs & the field of marketing & distribution. Students must be enrolled in a marketing class during the school year. Many of the members participate In state, district & national
competitions.
Engineering Club: Takes an engineering problem & as a team designs solutions.
Environmental Activists: Concentrates on environmental issues; In charge of
the recycling program for the school.
Figure Skating Club: Competes in figure skating performances.
French Club: Explores the French language & culture.
Freshman Class: Great way to get involved with school activities as a
freshman. Help build the Homecoming float, participate In the parade & organize other school events.
Future Problem Solving: Projects present-day concerns 25 years into the future teams develop possible problems & creative solutions to futuristic srtuation.
German Club: Exposes interested students to the German language & culture.
HERO (Human Equal Rights Organization): Fosters an appreciation for individual diversity.
Hip-Hop Club: Offers students the opportunity to express themselves & share with others their
interest in creative dance.
Horticulture Club: Students learn about horticulture through hands-on experiences, while beautifying the
grounds at Troy High.
Japanese Club: Explores the background & culture of the Japanese people.
Junior Class: Great way to get Involved in school activities as a Junior.
Help organize Homecoming activities, plan the Sadies Hawkins dance & prom.
Kudos Club: Recognizes Individuals who show peer leadership, succeed In non-team sports, individual or personal development, or demonstrate heroism.
Latin Club: Explores the Latin language in great depth.
Math Club: Assists students who are interested in competing in math
contests. Students receive support, tutoring, & mentoring before and/or after school for these competitions.
Model United Nations: Takes issues of international interest & debates them from the perspective of
individual countries.
National Art Honor Society: Fosters excellence & spirit In the pursuit of art, & gives recognition to
outstanding art students.
National Honor Society: Participates in many community activities. Students are invited to apply during their
junior year if their grade point average meets National Honor Society requirements.
Peer Mediation: Student volunteers are trained on how to mediate conflicts between other students.
Physics Club: Have fun, get people interested in physics. Practice & participate In physics' competitions.
Project LEAD: Works together to provide volunteer services to the community.
Quiz Bowl: Participates in academic competitions with other schools where depth of knowledge &
speed of recall are tested.
Random Acts of Kindness: Increases the awareness of how satisfying it can
be to be kind, have fun, & recognize people.
Red Cross Youth Council: A community service club that works in cooperation with the American Red Cross.
Science Olympiad: Prepares students for regional/ state competition in Science Olympiad & Chemistry
Olympiad. Students at all grade levels are encouraged to apply.
Senior Class: Great way to get Involved in school activities as a Senior.
Help organize Homecoming activities, Gimmees, senior picnic & dances.
Ski Club: A club where students take 5 trips to Mt. Holly for skiing or snowboarding from beginner to advanced.
Sophomore Class: Great way to get involved in school activities as a
Sophomore. Help organize Homecoming activities & plan Winter Ball.
Spanish Club: Exposes students to varied aspects of Hispanic culture in an enloyable yet educational way.
Spirit Club: Encourages students to have school spirit & come to after
school events to represent the Tray High School pride.
Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD): Organizes assemblies, conducts annual Troy High drunk-driving simulation, educates middle
& elementary students in developing peer resistance skills.
Student Government: Provides leadership training for students;
sponsors Homecoming, Sadie Hawkins, Gimmies, & conducts numerous charities for the school.
Troy Rhythm: Dances at basketball games & other school events. Attends competitions.
Troy Theatre Ensemble: Dedicates itself to excellence in high school theatre performance. Produces plays twice a year.
Video Club: Exposes students to the use of equipment, filming, & video production.
Web Club: Works with computer equipment to make web pages for the school, community organizations,
& businesses.
Weight Lifting Club: Teaches proper weight lifting techniques & provides motivation in a group setting.
Young Writers: Meets as a community of writers to peer conference & edit each other's works. Hosts evening coffee houses at school.
