About BWB

buildingwithbooks.org: BwB clubs acroos the nation offer students the chance to take action both locally and globally at the same time. Members take action through community service in their neighborhoods and in the neighborhoods of partner schools, while also raising money to help purchase materials for BwB-built schools in developing countries. Members may also communicate with students in these project villages overseas via a weekly email pen pal program that incorporates satellite technology. In addition to these fundamental club activities, BwB offers many opportunities, including the Trek for Knowledge, the Social Action and Integrated Leadership Skills (SAILS) program, Leadership Weekend, interactive video and slide presentations by BwB staff in the classroom and more.
