College Information

Information regarding college choice and admissions varies from university to university and it is in a student’s best interest to research carefully. It also is never to early to begin. By using the information located at the tabs on the left, students will be able to see a timeline for their high school years, the typical entry requirements and some useful links to aid in their search.

COLLEGE APPLICATIONS

Important Steps in the Application Process:

    • Compile list of colleges/universities of interest
    • Complete online application for each school

Use DOCUFIDE to request transcripts for MICHIGAN college

    • Seniors register at www.docufide.com/resources
      • Register with Docufide/Parchment, selecting Troy High School (MI)
      • You will need to provide some personal information and an email address.
      • Fees, if applicable, per transcript will be charged to your credit card.
      • IMPORTANT: Docufide transcript requests are FREE for Michigan colleges. Docufide will charge you for transcripts for out-of-state colleges.
    • Procedure for MICHIGAN colleges as follows:
      • Student completes college application and prints Counselor Form.
      • Student requests transcripts in Docufide for MICHIGAN colleges.
      • Student brings Counselor Form (if applicable) to the Guidance Office, and places an order for to send information ($2 each) in the Guidance Office.
      • Guidance Office will mail Counselor Form and transmit transcript via Docufide.
    • Procedure for Out-of State Colleges as follows:
      • Student completes college application and prints Counselor Form.
      • Student brings Counselor Form (if applicable) to the Guidance Office, and orders transcript  ($2 each) in the Guidance Office.
      • Guidance Office will mail Counselor Form and paper transcript to college.
    • Contact teacher/counselor for letters of recommendation
      • Offer a copy of senior questionnaire to teachers
      • Give a minimum of one week’s notice to teacher/counselor
    • Contact ACT or College Board (SAT) to have scores sent to each college/university.

Please allow five school days for all transcript requests and application processing through the guidance office. There will be a $2 processing fee for college applications, scholarships and NCAA transcripts.
