High School activities are valuable educational tools. Participation in co-curricular and extracurricular programs provide lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship, self-esteem and self-confidence. Research shows that students participating in activities achieve better academically and express greater satisfaction with their high school experience. We at Troy High School provide the opportunity for all students to develop their interests and abilities. Your commitment and active participation will contribute to your total education and prepare you for success as an adult. Activity/Academic Letter

Troy High School offers Activity/Academic Letters to students who are involved in the school's co-curricular programs. Students can earn Activity/Academic Letters by accumulating points through participation in Troy High School clubs and activities. Their students' academic achievement reflected in their semester grade point averages. A total of 100 points is necessary to receive a letter. Points are cumulative over the student's four years at Troy High School. Activity points are awarded at the discretion of the activity sponsor based on 1-5 points for semester activities and 1-15 points for yearlong activities. Grade point average points are per semester and are awarded as follows:

10 points 3.5 - 4.0 GPA
8 points 3.0 - 3.49 GPA
6 points 2.75 - 2.99 GPA
4 points 2.5 - 2.74 GPA
2 points 2.0 - 2.49 GPA

Students are responsible for keeping personal records of their own points. Upon earning a total of 100 points and after turning in their completed Verification Forms to the Activities Director, they will each receive the Activity/Academic Letter.
