The Michigan Merit Exam (MME) is given to all juniors across the state of Michigan in March. It is the qualifying test to receive the $4,000 promise award for use at colleges in the state of Michigan.
The MME is comprised of 3 separate portions taken over 3 different days. The first day is a full length ACT test including the writing portion. The score on the ACT may be used by the student for admission into colleges. The second day is made up of two different workkeys dealing with the subjects of applied mathematics and reading for information. The third day is a set of Michigan Augmented Assessments in the areas of mathematics, natural science and social studies.
