Freshmen Year
- Take the Social Studies MEAP in the fall
- Create a four year plan with strong academic courses
- Maintain a high level of achievement
- Start exploring careers and college requirements
- Get involved in your school and community
Sophomore Year
- Take the PLAN test in the fall
- Continue on your four year plan and modify if necessary
- Maintain a high level of achievement
- Continue involvement in school and community
Junior Year
- Take the PSAT in the fall
- Attend college fairs and come listen to college reps after school
- Maintain a high level of achievement and curriculum
- Visit college campuses to narrow the college search
- Take the ACT, SAT, and MME in the spring.
- Plan your senior year to take a minimum of 4 academic courses
- Continue involvement in school and community
Senior Year
- Retake college entrance exams in the fall if necessary
- Apply to colleges – be mindful that earlier is better with rolling admission
- Talk to your counselor about early action vs. early decision
- Attend college fairs and come listen to college reps after school
- Attend financial aid meeting in December and complete FAFSA after January 1
- Search for scholarships and complete applications
- Continue to do your best academically – it is still vitally important
- Finalize your college decision and submit your reservation fee
- Continue involvement in school and community
