Sock

Sock - Penn Jillette

Told from the twisted point of view of a sock monkey, this is a very unusual book. After finding his ex-girlfriend at the bottom of the NY sewers, the sock monkey’s owner, a police diver, goes on his own amateur investigation to find the killer. At first he is only bothered by her death, but as time goes on it becomes all he can think of. Working with the help of his ex’s hairdresser, he begins to study the slaughtered victims’ lives. This is a captivating book that was difficult to put down, especially toward the end. I really enjoyed this book. I found my self unwilling to put it down many times. It got rather dark at points, but it was a fascinating read that I would recommend to anyone tired of the same old, same old.
