About Mrs. Karbon

Hi!  My name is Kris Karbon.  Thanks for taking the time to visit my website.  This endeavor is something I could not have imagined doing when I started teaching in Troy Schools in 1987.

I actually started in the Troy School District in 1973 as a student at Leonard Elementary.  I attended Boulan Park Middle School and graduated from Troy High in 1983.  My Physics teacher, Tom Woodside, encouraged me to become a teacher.  I earned my BA in Mathematics Education from The University of Michigan in 1987.  I was hired in October of that year at Athens High School.  I earned my Master's Degree from Regis University in 2006.

After also teaching at Boulan Park, I finally landed a spot at THS in 1994.  I have been teaching in room 126 ever since.  I was honored in 2003 as one of the Troy School District's "Outstanding Teachers."

My husband, Ken and I, celebrated our sixteenth wedding anniversary on July 10, 2009.  We are the parents of two boys:  Tommy was born in 1996 and Charlie in 1999.  We make our home in Rochester Hills.

Being a full-time teacher and mom, doesn't leave a lot of time for hobbies, but I do enjoy cooking and reading (and in case you haven't noticed -- Survivor!)
