  Using Keytrain for Improving Employability Skills

Career Skill areas: 

1. Business Etiquette   (Telephone & Email Etiquette, Meeting Etiquette)

2. Communication Skills  (Speaking, Listening, Non-Verbal Communication)

3. The Job Search  (Effective Resumes, The Application Process, Interviewing Skilss)

4. Work Habits  (Workplace Ethics, Personal Characteristics, Employer Expectations)

5. Workplace Effectiveness  (Time Management, Problem solving, Customer Service, Teamwork)

 

Prep for ACT WorkKeys Tests  
Applied Math, Locating Information, and Reading for Information

Students can take a practice test and be assigned a learning level to master core principals

www.keytrain.com  (use from home)

    1. click  "Run Key Train On-line"  (left center column)  

    2. Student Log In

Username: last name first name mm dd (of birthdate)  Example:  
Password:   1st letter first name 1st letter middle name 1 st letter last name
                               last 4 digits of Student ID number      (if no middle name  1st & 2nd letter of last name)

Example:              Username:  morganmelisa0415
                           Password:   mkm4456

    3. Teacher Log in

Username:   last name first name mm dd  (of birthdate)
Password:  7 digit employee number

Example:              Username:  heinzelisa0514
                              Password:   2345678

Teachers can look up student usernames or add a student: 
Click Student Accounts Add New User.   

Directions for Students using Keytrain:

1.    1st time users will have to install an upload. 
Click "Install" Go to yellow shaded bar under tool bars  Click "Activate"
Click  "Ok"  twice  on menus that appear.

2. Click:  "My Account"  Enter Email address so password can be sent to you in the future.
At the end of the hour  Click My Records:  Career Skills Report
Print report to your teacher to show your work for the hour

3.  Click "Take Lessons",  then click "Career Skills"
Pick one of five topic areas:  The Job Search, Work Habits, Communication Skills,
Workplace  Place Effectiveness or Business Etiquette.   Then "Launch" the activity.

4.  For ACT Workkeys Prep work,  click on "My Assignments" then open the test area:
Applied Math, Reading for Information or Locaing Information.  Take the practice test
and be assigned a level.  Levels range from 3 to 7.   Or just begin at Level 3
