The below information only applies to class of 2008 students $4,000 MI PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP is linked to a student taking the MME test (3 days of testing in March).

"....To qualify for the up-front installment payments of the Michigan Promise Scholarship, students are required to meet or exceed state
standards in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies. They will receive $1,000 during their freshman and sophomore years
and earn the remaining $2,000 after successfully completing two years of post-secondary education.
Over 40,000 high school juniors who took the MME this spring qualified for the up-front payment of the $4,000 scholarship
Students will get a letter from the State of MI in the summer with directions to go to the State Web site and register where he student will be attending. Payments are sent directly to college or school If passing scores weren't achieved, there are 2 ways to still earn the 4,000$

REQUIREMENTS FOR MI PROMISE
An associate degree
A two-year certificate
A vocational education program; or
50% of the academic requirements for a bachelor's degree (60 semester or 90 term credits)
Attend an eligible Michigan college, university or other postsecondary institution with at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average
