Scholarship Information
Use free scholarship search engines to assist in locating scholarship money. The Counseling Office has a file drawer of current scholarships located in the Career Room. Students
and parents are welcome to come in before, during and after school to pick up applications. Ms. Brubaker the Counseling Secretary, maintains the scholarship drawer. Direct your questions to her. Access the scholarship list by clicking on the Troy High web site. Click on Counseling/Career tab, click on Guidance Office, click on box labeled "Guidance Office Updates"

Parents or Students create a free account at www.fastweb.com to search for scholarships, Googling a unique characteristic can produce many results Example: Google: Scholarhships for red haired studentsStudents and Parents are given a free (22 page) scholarship packet when they attend the Sept.
Senior Parent Night. Packets are available for purchase (2.00$) from Ms. Brubaker, Counseling Secretary, any time during the school year. Juniors may want to purchase a book their junior year. The Student and a parent both apply for a Pin Number during December of Senior Year
It's a good time to review the details needed to complete the application. A social security number is needed to apply for a PIN number (which is an electronic signature)

If you feel you just want a low cost loan, students must complete the FASFA to get information on low cost government loans.

- The State of Michigan offers $4000 MI Promise Scholarship, to students take the MME test.
Grants
- Pell grants & Federal Supplemental Educ. Opportunity Grants (Don't have to be repaid.)
- Must have a financial need to qualify, up to Cap is $5,600
Loans
- Federal Perkins Loan $4,000 — need based, made to student
- Stafford Loans (subsidized or unsubsidized)-Subsidized -Unsubsidized loans are base on economic need
- Federal PLUS Loans- made to parents
